Parent Well-being
Mindfulness for Parents is a 10-week course based on the principles of Mindfulness for Educators. Mindful parenting is associated with better well-being in parents and involves integrating the principles of mindfulness into parenting: listening to the child with full attention, being emotionally aware of and non-judgmentally accepting of the self and the child’s feelings and not being overly reactive to stressful situations. Parents who practice mindfulness report being happier with their parenting skills and their relationship with their children.
Self-Compassion for Parents is 10-week follow-up course to Mindfulness for Parents and is currently being developed. This course will enhance one's current mindfulness practice and help fortify emotional resilience and self-care. Rarely do parents put their own needs first when it comes to self-compassion and self-care; this course will focus on the necessity of doing so in order to parent with compassion and awareness.
Parent/Teen Yoga and Mindfulness is an opportunity to move, relax, laugh and spend quality time together. This series of classes provides parents and teens the opportunity to open their hearts and develop an authentic emotional connection while promoting focus, calm and well-being through a powerful blend of Yoga and Mindfulness.
